The chat is on twitter using the #poetry sign. Most of us use http://tweetchat.com/room/poetry for ease, but other Twitter clients let you follow along, too. Tonight, however, Twitter failed us... and the chat just isn't happening cuz it CAN'T happen!

Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but do I come to this page or where do I go? Thanks, Linda

Sounds good, but I'm not sure I could commit to it every week. I like the idea though and possibly Twitter poetry readings?

"I don't think anyone needs to commit to weekly attendance. There should be plenty of people who rotate in and out of chatting, and I think part of the joy of it is that chatting won't fall apart if regulars can't come (unlike, say, a critique group).
As for Twitter poetry readings... interesting! Where would you read the Twitter verse? Or is it more a set time on Twitter for everyone to post poetry? Or...???" Please allow me to offer the following proem--not a prose proem, but an introduction or a provocative assertion intended to incite discussion: Much of poetry today --for both children's and adults--is not splendid but Slenda-ed."

Hi Gregory, I love the idea, but I'm a teacher on the east coast so I couldn't participate at 2:00PM. Would you consider scheduling some of the chats for evening hours? I'm not on Twitter yet, but I would join for this. Thanks! Linda

Yeah, the time is always gonna be an issue. I guess I want to see if there really are folks wanting to talk... then, assuming that there are, we'll have to figure out how to make it work for as many people as possible!
Thanks for the note....

Please let me know what you're thinking. Do you have ideas about how to "format" the chat, if needed? Are there people I should tweet an invite to? Problems you've seen in other big Twitter chats? Or...?
